Overview

GitHub helps companies and organizations succeed by allowing them to build better software, together. We're looking for a Sales Development Manager to develop and lead our Sales Development team in the GitHub AMER region. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering the best experience to our customers and developing a team of entry-level sales professionals.

This is a Hybrid position, requiring attendance at the Bellevue office on Wednesdays and Thursdays for collaboration.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage a team of outbound Sales Development Representatives to exceed pipeline targets within the assigned territory.
  2. Provide leadership, development, and training to the Sales Development team.
  3. Hire, onboard, retain, and promote talented team members.
  4. Design and drive prospecting strategies within the territory, collaborating with cross-functional partners for pipeline building and prospecting initiatives.
  5. Monitor key performance indicators for the team.
  6. Collaborate with marketing, sales analytics, sales operations, and marketing operations to optimize workflows and systems.
  7. Continuously improve Sales Development processes based on feedback from various stakeholders.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. 6+ years of experience in business development or sales, or
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or
  3. Equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work onsite in Bellevue, WA at least two days per week.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    1. 8+ years of experience in business development or sales, or
    2. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field with 6+ years of experience, or
    3. Equivalent experience.
    4. 3+ years experience in computer science, software development, or related technology fields.
    5. Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional sales team.
    6. Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn GitHub’s technology and industry.
    7. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    8. Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth, ideally in tech.
    Compensation Range

    The base salary range is USD $62,100 - $164,820 per year, with additional opportunities for sales incentives. The on-target earnings (OTE) are based on a 60/40 base salary to sales incentive ratio. Compensation varies based on location, experience, and role impact. Benefits include potential bonuses and stock options.
