Job summary

EF Education First in Cambridge, MA is offering a cooperative Education co-op on our Sales Development team. You’ll be the first contact for new leads, qualify interest, and guide prospective host families to the next step—webinar, a conversation with a program consultant, or starting in the Host Family portal.

Ideal candidates are undergraduates with strong communication, rapport-building, and the ability to manage a high volume of conversations.

Job description

Cultural Care: a division affiliated with EF Education First
Office Location: EF Center, Cambridge, MA

Schedule: Hybrid schedule, Monday to Thursday in office, option to work remotely on Fridays

Compensation: $20/hr. / 40 hours per week. Start date July 2026.

EF Education First is excited to offer a Cooperative Education (co‑op) program in partnership with a student’s college or university, giving students the opportunity to align their academic and future career goals with full time or part time work experience for a select period of time.

EF offers a multitude offull‑time, 6‑month co‑ops starting in January or July, across our travel, language, and education businesses in sales, customer service, operations, finance, and marketing.

About the role

As an Intern on our Sales Development team, you’ll be the first point of contact for new leads generated by our marketing team. You’ll reach out quickly, ask smart questions, qualify interest, and guide prospective host families to the right next step—whether that’s a webinar, a conversation with one of our program consultants, or getting started on their Host Family portal.

Your responsibilities
  • Discovery & Curiosity: Ask thoughtful questions to our potential customers to understand each lead’s situation, timeline, and interest in the au pair program.
  • Qualification: Assess fit and readiness based on clear qualification criteria (and document it accurately).
  • Lead nurture: Maintain momentum with a mix of calls, texts, and emails. Stay organized while maintaining a fast paced to ensure the customer leads are prioritized.
  • Follow Up: Maintain communication with customer leads ensuring they have clear next steps, access to the appropriate resources, and collaborate across teams to get answers to questions quickly.
  • System discipline: Track activity and outcomes in our systems to ensure the team can learn, improve, and forecast effectively.
  • High-volume outreach: Call and consistently follow up with a high volume of customer inbound leads generated by our marketing team.
Who we’re looking for
  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student (this role is ideal for students exploring a career in sales, customer success, or business).
  • Comfortable speaking with new people and building rapport quickly.
  • Strong communication skills through phone, text, and email.
  • Organized, consistent, and able to manage a high volume of conversations without dropping details.
  • Coachable mindset: you like feedback, you try things, you get better.
  • Resilient and self‑motivated—you can handle “not right now” and keep going forward.
  • Interest in cultural exchange, global experiences, or mission‑driven work is a plus.
