Puckett Machinery Company is seeking a Parts Sales Counter/Warehouse Associate to support branch parts counter sales and warehouse operations. You will assist with quotes, determine parts availability, post orders, process returns and exchanges, and cross-sell to customers while delivering responsive service.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4–6 years of combined retail parts counter and/or warehouse experience.
• Strong knowledge of Caterpillar and allied heavy equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, specs, and service literature.

The Parts Sales Counter/Warehouse Associate is responsible to participate in the day to day execution of branch parts counter sales and warehouse operations. The position reports to the Parts Manager.Participate in all functions related to the parts order management process including but not limited to receiving, system posting, shelving/storing, picking/pulling, and shipping parts and components in accordance with all prescribed quality and safety standardsParticipate in all aspects of parts counter sales and customer service including but not limited to preparing quotes for parts and service, determining parts availability, posting and executing orders/returns/exchanges/backorders, cross selling and following up on leads, investigating and resolving customer issues and complaints.Inspect, determine reusability/residual value, and process customer’s core component returns for credit and shipment in accordance with prescribed re-manufacturer guidelines and company policy.Record and track parts-related lost customer sales opportunities to support better inventory management and more appropriate stocking levels.Fabricate customized hydraulic hoses to specification, using bulk materials in accordance with all prescribed quality and safety standards.Operate ladder and material handling equipment (i.e. forklift and pallet jack) to pull and transfer parts and components to designated areas for customer delivery or warehouse stocking in accordance with all prescribed safety standards.Maintain work area, tools, and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment.Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance at all times.Keep up to date with developments in parts, tooling, and systems.Deliver parts to field technicians and run department-related errands as needed.Perform related duties as assigned.High school diploma or GED equivalent required.Minimum 4-6 years of combined work experience as a retail parts counter salesman and/or warehouse associate in a parts sales and service shop environment.Good technical knowledge of Caterpillar and allied heavy equipment (mechanical systems, diesel engines/engine failures, electrical and hydraulic systems).Ability to read and comprehend computer-based schematics, specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, safety manuals, and other related publications.Proficient verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.Good problem solving skills, detail oriented, and ability to work with a high level of accuracy.Good computer skills using related information system applications (ex: SIS, DBS).Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced service environment.Ability to work standard five-day work schedule, including daily overtime, and occasional weekend hours as necessary.
