Job summary

Prairie Band Casino & Resort in Mayetta, KS seeks a Sales Team member to support the Sales Manager with convention center events, coordination, costing, and client relations. You will handle scheduling, pricing, and vendor liaison to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sales Manager with daily duties including sales, costing, ordering and coordination for convention center events.
• Coordinate internal and external banquet and event requirements.
• Schedule rooms and oversee event logistics.
• Build and manage golf groups, hotel groups, and Stay & Play packages.
• Ensure accurate customer billing for banquet events.
• Maintain communication with all departments to ensure smooth events.

Description

$750 Hiring Bonus for new Team Members plus $20 in gas gift cards during our onboarding process. Additional $1 per hour for hours worked from 6pm to 6am!

Assists the Sales Manager in daily duties to include sales with emphasis on coordinating, costing, ordering and detailing internal and external convention center functions as assigned

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Displays leadership in customer hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for customer relations


• Greets sales customers and clients and is liaison to Banquet functions


• Schedules and oversees technical equipment needs per customer request or sales order


• Work with customers to set up adequate banquet accommodations


• Books and builds Golf Groups and Hotel Groups with accuracy


• Sells and upsells Stay and Play Packages; booking group rooms and tee times


• Works with Firekeepers Golf Course on Golf Groups and Sales Groups


• Acts immediately on customer requests to ensure corrections are made to customer specifications


• Drives customer satisfaction and capitalizes on revenue during the event phase of a function while proactively avoiding service challenges and failures


• Ensures accurate customer billing for banquet events


• Attends pre-banquet meetings as required to ensure specifications of the group event are well planned and executed


• Assists in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth.


• Schedules rooms for internal meetings and functions as needed


• Assists in the setup and tear down of meetings, functions and concerts in the Convention Center for both internal and external guests.


• Under the direction of the Sales Manager, will assist in building a base of contacts and customers by calling on local businesses and organizations; encouraging them to engage on site banquet room and services for their social and business events


• Establishes strong lines of communication with all departments on property, and interfaces with all impacted departments to ensure timely coordination of group meetings


• Responsible for representing Prairie Band Casino at festivals, special events, and trade shows


• Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same


• Adjusts to work schedule as business needs dictate

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

Required

• High School Diploma or GED


• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook


• Must have a record of satisfactory performance and positive references in all prior and current employment


• Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include various shifts, weekends, and holidays


• Strong organizational and administrative skills

Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree


• Minimum of 2 years outside sales experience, knowledge of financial analysis and budget preparation


• 1-2 years previous Banquet experience
