talisman is hiring for our New York Sales Academy, joining our Investment, Finance and Legal team.

We partner with investment banks, private equity firms, infrastructure funds, asset managers and legal practices supporting Energy and Infrastructure across North America. You’ll learn how to identify and engage the professionals these businesses need, while developing the commercial skills to build your own specialist recruitment market.

Your first 90 days

You’ll begin with four weeks of daily instructor-led training, covering executive search, candidate engagement, business development, market mapping, negotiation and our specialist markets.

Alongside training, you’ll support live searches with experienced consultants. Over the following eight weeks, you’ll build practical experience in sourcing, interviewing, candidate assessment and client delivery, supported by dedicated Learning & Development and on-desk coaching.

What you’ll do

• Research specialist markets and identify prospective candidates and clients.
• Headhunt professionals through targeted outreach and build relationships with people who may not be actively looking.
• Conduct candidate interviews to understand experience, ambitions and suitability.
• Support retained and contingent searches across Investment, Finance and Legal.
• Prepare candidate assessments, share market insights and coordinate interview processes.
• Develop your business-development skills and work towards building your own client portfolio.

What we’re looking for

Previous recruitment experience is not required. We welcome backgrounds in sales, customer service, finance, consulting and other roles involving relationship-building.
