Job summary

Goodwill Central Coast seeks a Store Associate to support retail locations and donation sites in Monterey, CA. You will greet donors, assist customers, and handle cash using the register system while following procedures to promote sales and store goals.

You will aid with opening/closing, merchandising, stock rotation, and processing donations for transfer, emphasizing customer service, safety, and teamwork in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No prior experience required; sales experience preferred.
• Basic math ability.
• Familiarity with Goodwill Central Coast’s mission and policies.
• Familiarity with electronic cash registers.
• Ability to communicate in English; basic Spanish desirable.
• Willingness to learn cash register operation and store procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and customers entering the store location and/or attached donation site.

JOB SUMMARY: Perform related duties supporting the operation of retail store locations. Serve donors and customers in various ways, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. Provide outstanding customer service to promote store sales and achieve store goals.ESSENTIAL DUTIESGreet donors and customers when they enter the store location and/or attached donation site. Offer assistance and suggestions to customers when making product selections.Become trained in cash handling and using the store cash register system. Utilize training to complete customer transactions accurately while following all related procedures.Assist with store opening/closing procedures.Merchandise inventory on the sales floor, following defined procedures.
