Job summary

Goodwill is seeking a customer-focused retail team member in Rockville, MD to provide courteous service, stock shelves, and assist customers both in-store and on the phone. You will handle cash, operate the register, and keep the sales floor organized while maintaining a neat appearance.

The role emphasizes strong communication, basic math, and the ability to stand for long periods. Previous retail experience is preferred, with company benefits available.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides professional and courteous service to all customers inside the store, outside of the store, and on the phone.
• Assures merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner.
• Able to ensure items are rung accurately on the register.
• Demonstrates accurate cash handling skill to include but is not limited to making change, operate and maintain the cash register, check and charge card machine, and use of a calculator.
• Maintains knowledge of merchandise and answers customer’s questions courteously and promptly.
• Keeps floor merchandise neat and orderly (racks, shelves, bins, and hangers) and assists customers with purchase selections.
• Maintains clean professional appearance.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain an orderly and clean register area.
• Maintain familiarity with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary.
• Perform general housekeeping responsibilities to include: store upkeep duties as needed to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting (including restrooms and dressing rooms).
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
