Job Summary:

Sales associate leads are expected to maintain a positive representation of Country 3 Corners by providing an outstanding customer service experience consistent with company values. The main task of a sales associate is to assist customers and maintain a clean and efficient sales floor. Assist in training new hires and delegating tasks to fellow employees. They should be willing to continually learn and expand their knowledge of the retail industry. Their job will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers, both in person and on the phone, answering their questions, helping them find merchandise, and suggesting add-on sales that will help them complete their project. This may also include processing special orders.
  2. Create an inviting environment for customers by maintaining a clean and orderly sales floor, including housekeeping tasks.
  3. Notify customers of upcoming promotions and new products.
  4. Assist in training new employees.
  5. Opening/closing responsibility.
  6. Assist in ordering product for the store.
  7. Assist with loading products into customer’s vehicles as needed.
  8. Merchandise products according to prescribed planograms and help maintain signage.
  9. Restock shelves as necessary.
  10. Assist in taking regular inventory of stock.
  11. Face and front product throughout the store at the beginning and end of the shift, and as time permits throughout the day.
  12. Help store staff with other tasks as needed.
  13. Be vigilant to identify shoplifters and other types of theft. Respond with appropriate action, according to store policy.
  14. Attend all staff meetings.
  15. Adhere to all store policies and safety standards.
  16. Be able to cut keys, cut glass, and mix paint for customers.

Qualifications:

  1. Outstanding customer service skills and a professional attitude.
  2. A working knowledge of the products contained in the store with a willingness to continue to learn.
  3. Organized, self-starter who thinks independently and solves problems.
  4. Knowledge of effective sales methods and techniques.
  5. Knowledge of point-of-sale systems in order to assist with price lookup, special orders, and order entry. Knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint.
  6. Strong math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
  7. Able to lift up to 80 lbs.
  8. Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Goals:

  1. Boost overall sales by closing the sale, and add-on sales.
  2. Continually expand knowledge of all departments in the store.
  3. Become a versatile employee, able to help in other areas when needed.
  4. Take a personal interest in products sold in the store and gain the knowledge to make new products and merchandising recommendations to management.
  5. After enough experience, become a mentor to new employees and help them understand products and retail concepts.
