GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Lead Sales Associate helps maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. The duties include assisting customers, operating a cash register, stocking merchandise, cleaning, and other tasks as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. Lead Sales Associates perform the duties of a Sales Associate and act in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provide superior customer service; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register, scan items, process payments, and assist with merchandise.
• Receive, unpack, stock, and display merchandise following company processes.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store and surrounding areas.
• Assist with planogram implementation and maintenance.
• Open and close the store under the direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform additional duties in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to follow planograms and presentation guides.
• Mathematical skills for calculations and cash handling.
• Knowledge of cash register functions and cash handling procedures.
• Ability to drive to the bank for deposits.

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory or related experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
• Handling merchandise and equipment regularly.
• Lifting up to 40 pounds frequently, up to 55 pounds occasionally.
• Climbing and working at heights occasionally.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise.
• Occasional outdoor weather exposure.
• Occasional driving for bank deposits, meetings, and store visits.
