Job summary

The Shops at The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, PA is seeking a Part-Time Sales Associate to join our luxury resort retail team. You will deliver friendly, efficient guest service in-store, assist with merchandising, and manage store operations to support department goals.

Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old, with one year of retail or customer service experience preferred, and strong guest-relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as front-line team member, assisting in all Hotel retail locations as the business warrants
• Provide exceptional guest service within your assigned store location, including entering sales into POS system for a positive checkout experience
• Answer guest inquiries, in person and over the phone in a timely manner
• Exhibit thorough product knowledge and upselling techniques to guests
• Maintain store appearance standards and assist in inventory management tasks as needed
• Resolve immediate guest concerns, partnering with lead staff when needed to prevent recurring issues

The Hotel Hershey is situated high atop the town of Hershey and has 326 guest rooms, including 19 Villas with 98 luxury sleeping rooms, as well as 25,000 square feet of meeting and function space. Develop valuable skills in customer service and retail operations. Sales Associates are given opportunities to learn about basic aspects of retail operations including merchandising, guest service skills, and store inventory. This position is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and courteous service in The Shops at The Hotel Hershey to achieve the department’s goals for the year.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Serve as front-line team member, assisting in all Hotel retail locations as the business warrants
• Provide exceptional guest service within your assigned store location, including entering sales into POS system for a positive checkout experience
• Answer guest inquiries, in person and over the phone in a timely manner.
• Exhibit thorough product knowledge and upselling techniques to guests
• Maintain store appearance standards to ensure the store is stocked and assist in other inventory management tasks as needed
• Resolve immediate guest concerns, partnering with lead staff when needed to prevent recurring guest service issues
• Identify safety and maintenance related issues and relay these concerns to store leadership to ensure they are addressed
• Help execute the Hotel Amenities program
• Follow all cash handling procedures in accordance with Resort Revenue Group SOPs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older on the date of applying
• One year of retail/customer service experience preferred

Job Demands

• This position is available year round and requires a high level of independence.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Physical requirements include standing (75-100% of the shift), sitting, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 35 lbs with assistance, finger dexterity and communicating effectively
