Role Description

The Sales Associate is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Chicago Area at Wickstrom Auto Group’s Barrington campus. The Sales Associate will greet and engage customers, assess their needs, and guide them through the selection of new and pre-owned vehicles. Daily responsibilities include conducting vehicle presentations and test drives, explaining features and financing options, preparing sales paperwork, and coordinating with finance and service departments to ensure a smooth customer experience. The role also involves maintaining product knowledge across multiple brands, following up with leads and past customers, and using dealership systems to track prospects and sales activity. The Sales Associate is expected to contribute to a professional, welcoming showroom environment and uphold all dealership policies and ethical sales practices.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, listen actively, and respond to customer needs in a professional manner.
• Solid communication skills, including clear verbal communication, confident presentation abilities, and accurate documentation of sales and customer information.
• Basic sales and negotiation skills, with an understanding of consultative selling, handling objections, and closing transactions in a customer-centric way.
• Comfort with technology, including dealership CRM systems, email, and basic office software; ability to learn vehicle features and digital tools quickly.
• Interest in and ability to develop product knowledge across multiple automotive brands, including new and pre-owned vehicles and service offerings.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple customers, follow-up tasks, and sales processes efficiently.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism, with a focus on ethical conduct and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Availability to work full-time, including evenings and weekends as needed to meet customer demand.
• Previous experience in automotive sales, retail sales, or customer-facing roles is beneficial but not required; training may be provided for motivated candidates.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record to conduct test drives and move vehicles on-site.
