Job summary

The Royal Standard in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and drive in-store sales. You will assist customers, operate the register, stock and tag merchandise, and maintain an inviting store appearance.

Responsibilities include building customer relationships, processing POS transactions, supporting merchandising, monogramming items as needed, and collaborating with teammates to meet store goals while following policies.

Qualifications

• 1 year retail sales experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, especially verbal.
• Ability to lift and move merchandise as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and develop customer relationships and resolve service issues promptly.
• Operate register and tender sales.
• Maintain stock, tagging, and merchandising to ensure store appearance.
• Monogram merchandise on monogram machine or with vinyl.
• Assist coworkers with store operations and follow policies.

Summary:

The Sales Associate specializes in excellent customer service and sales. Responsibilities include assisting the customer with any retail related needs while providing a positive shopping experience, general point of sale processing, stocking and tagging merchandise, straightening shelves, monogramming merchandise, and much more!

Availability:

Applicant must have availability weekdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and weekend availability.

Essential functions:

• Initiating and developing customer relationships, and resolving customer service issues in a timely manner
• Working a register to tender sales
• Motivated to reach or exceed store sales goals
• Following store policies and procedures
• Merchandise displays, signage, and cleanliness, and overall store appearance
• Maintaining inventory and store supply levels
• Tagging merchandise correctly
• Ensuring required store opening and closing duties are complete
• Monogramming merchandise on the monogram machine or by adding a vinyl
• Communicating with and assisting co-workers with any operations of the store
• Additional responsibilities may be added at any time

Supervisory responsibilities: none

• Ability to lift 35 lbs
• Ability to move up to 100 lbs
• Ability to lift/move up to 200 lbs with the assistance of another employee

Required education and experience:

• 1 year in retail sales position experience preferred

• Creative, Organized and Detail Oriented
• Excellent Communication Skills, especially Verbal
• Computer Literate – POS software, Microsoft Excel and Word, email
