Job summary

The Royal Standard in Birmingham, AL is seeking a friendly Sales Associate to deliver excellent customer service and drive in-store sales. You will assist customers with retail needs, process transactions at the register, stock and tag merchandise, and maintain appealing displays to create a positive shopping experience.

Essential duties include opening/closing tasks, inventory upkeep, monogramming merchandise, and helping teammates with daily store operations.

Qualifications

• 1 year in retail sales position experience preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proactive, organized and detail oriented

Responsibilities

Summary:

The Sales Associate specializes in excellent customer service and sales. Responsibilities include assisting the customer with any retail related needs while providing a positive shopping experience, general point of sale processing, stocking and tagging merchandise, straightening shelves, monogramming merchandise, and much more!

Essential functions:

• Initiating and developing customer relationships, and resolving customer service issues in a timely manner
• Working a register to tender sales
• Motivated to reach or exceed store sales goals
• Following store policies and procedures
• Merchandise displays, signage, and cleanliness, and overall store appearance
• Maintaining inventory and store supply levels
• Tagging merchandise correctly
• Ensuring required store opening and closing duties are complete
• Monogramming merchandise on the monogram machine or by adding a vinyl
• Communicating with and assisting co-workers with any operations of the store
• Additional responsibilities may be added at any time

Supervisory responsibilities: none

• Ability to lift 35 lbs
• Ability to move up to 100 lbs
• Ability to lift/move up to 200 lbs with the assistance of another employee

Required education and experience:

• 1 year in retail sales position experience preferred

• Excellent Communication Skills, especially Verbal
