Job summary

Smith is the leading independent electronic components distributor, located in Albany, NY. The Sales Assistant role supports the solar team by handling RFQs, proposals, and order processing, ensuring on-time fulfillment and accurate CRM data.

You will coordinate mezi sales, purchasing, and operations, manage POs and SOs, onboard new accounts, and maintain proactive communications with customers about order statuses and logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or two years in a sales support role.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• CRM data management and order processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end administrative process for sales orders, tracking POs and SOs.
• Provide daily operational support to the sales team and manage RFQs.
• Coordinate between sales, purchasing and operations to verify inventory and shipping timelines.
• Onboard new accounts with thorough follow-through and data tracking.
• Update customers on order statuses and logistics details.

Specifically on the solar side, we’re in need of a Sales Assistant to process orders for brand new, PV panels, inverters, batteries, storage and more.
