Job summary

Kramer Tree Specialists is seeking an experienced Sales Arborist to provide expert tree care recommendations and grow a personal book of business in the Chicago area. This field-based role blends arboriculture knowledge with consultative selling to homeowners, property managers, municipalities, and businesses.

In addition to on-site inspections and proposals, you will network at events to generate opportunities and work closely with production teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• ISA Certified Arborist certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Minimum 2 years in arboriculture.
• Proven sales or strong customer relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of tree identification, plant health care, pruning, removals, pests, and diagnostics.
• Ability to prepare estimates and develop detailed client proposals.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Able to network and develop new business opportunities.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License with a safe driving record.
• Associate/Bachelor degree in environmental or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with residential, commercial, and municipal clients
• Conduct on-site property inspections and evaluate tree health and safety
• Diagnose tree and shrub health issues, pests, and diseases
• Develop professional arboricultural recommendations following ANSI standards
• Prepare accurate proposals and cost estimates for tree care services
• Present recommendations and educate clients on proper tree care
• Partner closely with production crews to ensure successful project execution
• Attend networking events and business development functions to generate new opportunities
• Consistently achieve sales goals while delivering exceptional customer service

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation Type: 100% commission position (earnings are uncapped) with estimated annual earnings of $55,000–$125,000 based on performance. Sales Arborists are eligible for a monthly recoverable draw (negotiable).
