Job summary

Semex is seeking a Summer Sales and Solutions Intern to support the USA Sales Team and gain hands-on experience in the dairy industry. You will learn to work with customers, engage in solution-based selling, and manage accounts under supervision.

You will shadow experienced professionals, gain exposure to herd management software, and contribute to projects that impact farm profitability across regions in the United States.

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal or dairy science, genetics, or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on exposure to the Semex sales process in the U.S. market, including prospecting, customer engagement, solution-based selling, and account management.
  • Develop understanding of the Semex Solutions portfolio and how they support dairy producer success.

About the Role

We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Summer Sales and Solutions Intern to join our team. As our intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the USA Sales Team while developing a comprehensive understanding of the dairy-industry, relationship-based sales and Semex's innovative solutions portfolio. Working alongside experienced sales and technical professionals, the intern will learn how Semex delivers value to dairy producers through industry-leading genetics, reproductive technologies, and herd management solutions.

What You Will do:

Gain hands-on exposure to the Semex sales process in the U.S. market, including prospecting, customer engagement, solution-based selling, and account management.

Develop a foundational understanding of the Semex Solutions portfolio, including Ai24, Elevate, Immunity+, Embryos, and Milc solutions, and how they support dairy producer success.

Shadow top-performing sales representatives and technical support team members to observe best practices in customer relationship management and consultative sales.

Build proficiency in a variety of herd management software platforms and understand how data-driven insights contribute to producer decision-making.

Gain extensive exposure to the growing Beef-on-Dairy segment and its impact on dairy operations and profitability.

Obtain valuable on-farm experience working with dairy operations ranging from 100 to 100,000 cows across diverse regions of the United States.

Participate in customer visits, industry events, and educational opportunities to strengthen knowledge of the dairy industry and Semex's role within it.

Provide weekly updates to the National Key Account Manager, highlighting accomplishments, learning opportunities, project milestones, and progress toward established goals.

Apply knowledge and experiences gained throughout the internship to complete a comprehensive end-of-summer dairy industry project, demonstrating key learnings and business insights.

What You Need to Succeed :

  • College students pursuing a bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal or dairy science, genetics, or a related field are preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, able to handle multiple tasks, adjust priorities, manage time, and meet deadlines

Additional Information:

  • This internship offers the opportunity to develop practical industry knowledge and key business skills
  • Flexible working hours are available, and remote work may be considered
  • Significant travel is required and provides valuable opportunities to work directly with customers and industry professionals in a variety of production environments
  • This is a full-time Summer internship position working 40 hours per week
