Job summary

California Closets in Sonoma is seeking a Design Consultant to craft highly personalized, whole-home storage solutions and deliver exceptional service. You will meet clients in their homes, listen to needs, design with our CAD tools, and coordinate with installation teams to ensure flawless execution.

This is a full-time role with a 12‑week training at $19.18/hr in Richmond, with eventual commission or bonus potential; candidates should reside in Sonoma or Napa counties and have interior design

Qualifications

• Interior design education and/or in‑home sales experience preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD and design software is expected.
• Strong client communication and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Commute to customers’ homes and design custom storage solutions using CAD.
• Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets via referrals and repeat business.
• Coordinate with installation team to ensure on-time completion.
• Attend meetings and training sessions.
• Manage a portfolio of projects and clients with varying complexity.

Job description

The Design Consultant role is critical to the California Closets Design Brand experience and the relationship earned with each and every customer. By listening to a customer’s needs and collaborating on every detail, this role is responsible for delivering highly personalized, whole-home design solutions and exceptional service. Supported by enhanced training, this role requires passion for design, integrity, and commitment to excellence for measuring, designing, selling, and delivering custom solutions that add lifetime value and impact. This is a full-time (40+ hours per week) position.

Training This opportunity comes with a 12‑week training period with an hourly rate of $19.18/hr. The first eight weeks of training will require commuting to Richmond office (1414 Harbour Way S, Richmond 94804)typically 3 days a week. 2 days (and sometimes more) will likely be conducted virtually. Once training is completed, this position converts to hourly plus tiered bonus opportunities. On average, designers earn $80k-$120k. **Seeking candidates who reside in Sonoma & Napa County (Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Calistoga, St. Helena)*

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Commute to customers’ homes and design custom storage solutions utilizing our proprietary CAD software program.
• Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets by pursuing referrals and repeat business.
• Continuous follow‑up with customers and collaboration with the installation team toensure job completion.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions.
• Manage a portfolio of projectsand clients of different complexity in a dynamic environment.

Interior design education, direct industry experience, and/or in‑home sales experience is preferred. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft365 andexperience working with laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices is required. Previous experience with Salesforce, CAD, or design software is preferred The ability to be creative, yet meticulously detail‑oriented witha sense of craftsmanship. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
