Job summary

California Closets is seeking a Design Consultant to deliver personalized, whole-home design solutions and exceptional service. This full-time role starts with a 12-week training period at $19.08/hr, then converts to commission plus hourly structure, with benefits discussed for company-owned locations.

The role requires passion for design, integrity, and excellence in measuring, designing, selling, and delivering custom solutions that add lifetime value for clients.

Qualifications

• Interior design education, direct industry experience, and/or in-home sales experience is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 and experience with laptops, tablets, and other devices is required.
• Previous experience with Salesforce, CAD, or design software is preferred.
• Creative yet meticulously detail-oriented with craftsmanship.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Commute to customers’ homes and design custom storage solutions using our proprietary CAD software.
• Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets by pursuing referrals and repeat business.
• Maintain continuous follow-up with customers and coordinate with installation team for job completion.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions.
• Manage a portfolio of projects and clients of varying complexity.

Job Description

The Design Consultant role is critical to the California Closets Design Brand experience and the relationship earned with each and every customer. By listening to a customer’s needs and collaborating on every detail, this role is responsible for delivering highly personalized, whole-home design solutions and exceptional service. Supported by enhanced training, this role requires passion for design, integrity, and commitment to excellence for measuring, designing, selling, and delivering custom solutions that add lifetime value and impact. This is a full-time (40+ hours per week) position.

Training

• This opportunity comes with a 12-week training period with an hourly rate of $19.08/hr.
• The first four weeks of training will require regular showroom hours Monday - Friday 10am-6pm.
• Once training is completed, this position converts to commission plus hourly structure.
