Meyer Distributing is looking for a Sales Account Manager to join our Arlington team. Meyer Distributing is a complete wholesale distributor of automotive, RV/towing, outdoor living, marine, and more. With 85+ locations across the country, Meyer services dealers nationwide. Meyer Logistics, a transportation company, provides the backbone of Meyer’s shipping network with a fleet of 500+ trucks.
Responsibilities
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for all inside sales functions including but not limited to inbound/outbound telephone calls, processing of sales documents, and representing Meyer with the highest regard for customer satisfaction.
- Handles a high volume of telephone calls per day, working with existing and new potential customers, taking orders and closing sales
- Sources new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow‑up and outbound cold calls
- Processes all calls with efficiency and accuracy, keeping digital notes of all telephone communications and verifying orders before input into the computer system
- Ensures that accounts are serviced and maintained in accordance with company standards
- Recognizes customer buying patterns and promotes possible new product lines
- Contacts key accounts regularly and routinely contacts prospects to continue building sales and new customers, developing and maintaining professional relationships
- Investigates and resolves all customer issues professionally and reasonably, resulting in conclusions acceptable for both company and customer
- Meets or exceeds sales goals
- Stays current on product knowledge and trends
- Some travel may be required as directed by supervisor
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior automotive parts knowledge and previous sales experience preferred
- Open to entry‑level candidates with strong customer service experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication and telephone skills
- Must be able to communicate on the phone 90 percent or more of the shift
- Ability to understand customer’s current needs and anticipate future requirements
- Strong multitasking, prioritizing, and time‑management skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Planning and organizing skills, with the ability to develop realistic action plans and follow up to ensure compliance
- Extensive computer use required; experience with Microsoft Windows preferred
- Excellent negotiating and problem‑solving skills
