Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and understand direction in English to ensure safety.

• Very basic food handling, preparation, and cleaning skills encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Clean vegetables, mix ingredients, and prepare plates of vegetables.
• Prepare dressings based on recipes when needed.
• Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation specs using utensils and equipment.
• Ensure ingredient quality and accuracy according to brand standards.
• Setup station with ingredients, prep and utensils at start and end of service.
• Restock items as needed throughout the shift.
• Inspect food prep and serving areas for safe, sanitary handling.
• Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
• Season and cook food according to recipes or judgment and experience.
• Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve to staff or patrons.
• Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
• Maintain station cleanliness and safety throughout service.
• Receive and organize deliveries, checking invoices for counts and weights.
