Job summary

Transdev in Las Vegas, Nevada, is seeking an Assistant Safety & Training Manager to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policy. The role emphasizes safety-focused leadership and training of drivers and attendants in paratransit operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing hiring/training/compliance, conducting safety meetings, investigating incidents, and providing guidance on safety best practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in the passenger transportation industry.
• Experience in safety, operations, training, or a related leadership role.
• Experience training paratransit drivers and developing training materials preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and payroll/timekeeping/workforce management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers driver hiring, training and compliance processes and background checks.
• Provides direction to location trainers and inputs to classroom training contents to ensure compliance.
• Teaches classes and schedules retraining and recertification.
• Investigates incidents and prepares accident reports; follows up with claims offices.
• Provides post-accident counseling and retrains drivers as needed.
• Plans and conducts monthly safety meetings and safety action team activities.
• Responds to driver appeals and provides safety-related guidance.
• Supports driver and attendant training on safety and passenger management.
• Performs driver road checks and analyzes safety trends with cost-saving recommendations.
