Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, evaluating and updating written safety programs.
• Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
• Evaluate practices to assess risk and adherence to the safety plan.
• Conduct training and presentations on safety matters and accident prevention.
• Monitor compliance to policies and laws by reviewing practices.
• Maintain OSHA reporting logs and company records; submit reports as required.
• Inspect equipment and facilities for unsafe conditions.
• Assist with accident/incident investigations and determine causes.
• Assist in resolving workers’ compensation claims.
• Recommend improvements to hazards and risk controls.
• Perform safety surveys, prepare reports and follow up on corrective actions.
• Audit facility for compliance with company and SQF standards.
• Lead efforts to keep safety programs current; update SOPs.
• Coach employees on safety; ensure policy adherence.
• Develop and maintain machine-specific safety procedures.
• Foster positive morale and good interactions among associates.
• Administer disciplinary actions as necessary.
