Job summary

PABCO® Gypsum, a division of PABCO® Building Products LLC, is seeking a Safety Coordinator for our Newark, CA plant. The role supports HR functions while promoting a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with company policies and workplace safety standards.

Starting pay is $32–$35 per hour, depending on experience. The position is full-time, onsite, with benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and paid holidays. Weekend work possible on occasion.

Qualifications

• College degree required; two (2) or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiences.
• PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support HR functions and promote a safe work environment.
• Engage with plant employees and leadership on safety best practices.
• Conduct regular plant audits and report action items.
• Prepare and maintain routine to moderately complex reports for management.
• Potentially take on Environmental tasks.
• Assist in HR functions as needed and coordinate special events.
• Attend training and seminars to learn regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and enforce safety rules.
