Job summary

PABCO Gypsum, a division of PABCO Building Products LLC, Newark, CA, seeks a Safety Coordinator to support HR functions and promote a safe work environment. The role ensures compliance with company policies, employment regulations, and workplace safety standards.

Starting pay is $32-$35 per hour, depending on experience. The position is full-time onsite with training, audits, HR support, and opportunities for environmental tasks, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

• Training administration experience and recordkeeping.
• Experience engaging with plant employees and leadership on HR and safety.
• Ability to conduct plant audits and communicate action items.

Responsibilities

• Training administration including recordkeeping and conducting in-person training.
• Engages, implements, and communicates with plant employees and leadership on HR and Safety.
• Conducting regular plant audits and providing communication to staff about action items.
• Prepares and maintains routine to moderately complex reports for management.
• Eventually will take on Environmental tasks.
• Assist in HR functions, as needed.
• Assist in coordinating special events.
• Attend training and seminars to learn regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and safety of all employees and contractors.
• Abide by safety rules and report hazardous conditions.

PABCO® Gypsum, a division of PABCO® Building Products LLC, has provided quality gypsum board products and service for over 35 years. PABCO® Gypsum supplies a complete line of gypsum products for commercial and residential construction.

Safety Coordinator

The Newark, CA plant is currently accepting resumes for a Safety Coordinator. Your job as a Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting human resources functions while promoting and maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company policies, employment regulations, and workplace safety standards.

What is the Pay?

• Starting pay is $32 - $35 per hour, depending on experience.

What is the Job?

• Training administration including recordkeeping and conducting in-person training.

• Conducting regular plant audits and providing communication to the staff about action items.
• Prepares and maintains a variety of routine to moderately complex reports for management.
• Eventually will take on Environmental tasks.
• Assist in HR functions, as needed.
• Assist in coordinating special events.
• Attends training and educational seminars as appropriate to learn regulatory requirements.
• Visibly demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and the safety of all employees and contractors.
• Abide by all safety rules set forth by company and government regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• All other special projects or tasks, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• College Degree; and
• Two (2) or more years related experience and/or training; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experiences.
• PHR Certification preferred.

What is the Work Schedule?

• This is a full-time onsite position.
• Typically, Monday – Friday; although there may be the occasional need for weekend work.
• The working day is expected to be 7 AM – 4 PM or 8 AM – 5 PM.
