Job summary

CPG is seeking a Safety Manager I in Ashburn, VA to develop and deliver high‑quality safety training for field and facility personnel. The role ensures compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company standards while engaging diverse audiences.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on equipment knowledge and strong instructional skills, with experience in training development, delivery, and competency verification across safety programs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in safety training or safety management.
• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards, NFPA 70E, and equipment operation requirements.
• Ability to conduct hands‑on practical evaluations for lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, and scaffolds.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and digital training tools.
• Preferred: 5-7 years of experience in safety training or safety management.
• CHST, CSP, or other recognized safety certifications.
• OSHA 500 (Osha 30 trainer), CPR/First Aid, NFPA70E training experience
• Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer (Construction) a plus.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, utilities, or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and deliver instructor‑led and virtual safety training courses.
• Conduct required regulatory and company training including OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, Fall Protection, Confined Space.
• Create training materials such as presentations, manuals, quizzes, and hands‑on evaluations.
• Ensure training content aligns with OSHA 29 CFR 1926/1910, NFPA standards, and company policies.
• Perform practical evaluations for equipment operation and high‑hazard tasks.
• Maintain accurate training records, rosters, and certifications.
• Assess employee competency and provide coaching or retraining as needed.
• Support the development of annual training plans and schedules.
• Track training compliance and identify gaps or expirations.
• Assist with onboarding safety orientation for new hires.
• Collaborate with Safety, Operations, and HR to ensure training supports operational needs.
• Review incident trends and integrate lessons learned into training content.
• Recommend improvements to training methods, delivery, and curriculum.
• Stay current with regulatory changes, industry best practices, and emerging safety technologies.
• Track training compliance and identify gaps or expirations.
• Assist with onboarding safety orientation for new hires.
• Collaborate with Safety, Operations, and HR to ensure training supports operational needs.
