Job summary

Generac Power Systems in Wisconsin is seeking a Safety Tech to join our Jefferson facility on a full-time basis. You will work closely with the EHS site leader and cross-functional teams to promote health and safety and support environmental compliance.

You will lead safety initiatives, perform audits, coach on PPE use, and help train new hires while upholding OSHA and EPA standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Demonstrated understanding of corporate environmental, health and safety policies.
• Proven knowledge of safety equipment and standards.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to understand OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Engage in floor safety needs such as incident response, safety coaching, PPE distribution, ergonomic assessments, safety audits.
• Facilitate new hire orientation.
• Collect environmental compliance data including air monitoring and hazardous waste inspections.
• Monitor and archive inspection supplies for PITs.
• Be the primary contact for EHS issues on the production floor.
• Post new emergency procedures and training documents.
• Assist in emergency response and communication.
• Other duties as assigned.
