Job summary

DR Power LLP in Jefferson, WI is seeking a Safety Technician I to support the EHS site leader and cross-functional teams on the manufacturing floor. You will handle floor safety tasks, drive incident response, safety coaching, PPE distribution, audits and pre-pro for products.

You will also collect environmental compliance data, manage record-keeping for inspections, and assist with emergency responses while applying OSHA, EPA and local regulations.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage in floor safety needs: incident response, safety coaching, PPE distribution, audits and risk assessments.
• Facilitate new hire safety orientation and training documentation.
• Collect environmental compliance data (air monitoring, filter readings, waste inspections).
• Monitor and archive inspection supplies for PITs; serve as primary EHS contact on the floor.
• Assist in emergency response and communication; support post-incident procedures.

The Safety Tech is responsible for shift specific environmental, health and safety functions to prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety awareness and education to fellow employees at the manufacturing site. **Responsibilities:*** Engage in floor safety needs such as incident response, safety coaching (limited), PPE distribution, ergonomic assessments, safety audits, pre-pros for altered products and or new product.* Facilitate new hire orientation.* Collect environmental compliance data as directing including but not limited to air monitoring, filter performance readings, and hazardous waste inspections.* Monitor and archive inspection supplies for all in-house powered industrial trucks (PITs).* Be the primary contact for Environmental, Health and Safety issues and/or concerns on the production floor.* Post new emergency procedures, update SDS files, archive incident reports, and training documentation.* Assist in emergency response(s) and communication.* Other duties as assigned. **Requirements:*** High School Diploma or GED.* 6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment.* Demonstrate and understanding of corporate environmental, health and safety policies.* Proven knowledge of safety equipment and standards.* Demonstrated ability to influence teams and individuals across multiple functions within the organization.* Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.* Effective verbal and written communication skills.* Demonstrate the ability to understand OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT and local regulations.* Public speaking skills. **Physical Demands:** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
