Job summary

Generac in Wisconsin seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to lead day-to-day EHS at the site, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and process integrity.

You will manage hazardous waste, industrial hygiene activities, and the site’s EHS program, coordinating with cross-functional teams to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role with audits, training and reporting to help ensure zero incidents and OSHA/EPA/state compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• 1 year of experience implementing occupational safety and environmental programs
• Preferred: degree in safety, engineering or science related
• Experience in a manufacturing corporate safety role
• ISO, VPP, etc. implementation experience
• SAP or ERP experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Regulatory compliance monitoring and reporting
• Serve as the primary hazardous waste SME, leading reduction and recycling initiatives
• Direct industrial hygiene sampling and support
• Manage the facility EHS program
• Plan, train, inspect, report and recordkeeping for all environmental and safety compliance programs
• Worksite analysis
• Conduct facility audits to ensure compliance and operational excellence
• Prepare reports with findings and corrective action recommendations
• Conduct monthly inspections of hazardous waste storage areas
• Perform Job Safety Analysis and lead controls and countermeasures
