Job summary

Day & Zimmermann is seeking an experienced safety professional to supervise a major aeroderivative power project at TVA Allen Plant in Memphis, TN. This 9–12 month assignment emphasizes hands-on safety leadership for employees and subcontractors on a site-focused role.

Ideal candidates will have 4+ years in power plant construction or heavy industry safety, OSHA 30+, and proven ability to lead audits, training, and incident investigations while coordinating with project teams on safety

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of safety experience in power plant construction or similar environments.
  • OSHA 30 (or higher) required.
  • Experience leading safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Ability to develop and deliver safety training and toolbox talks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and jobsite evaluations on the aeroderivative project.
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project-specific training sessions.
  • Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company safety policies, and project requirements.
  • Maintain safety metrics, records, and reporting.

Job description

Day & Zimmermann is seeking an experienced safety professional for project supervision at TVA Allen Plant, located in Memphis, TN. Duration is expected to be 9-12 months.

Position Summary

Seeking a Safety Supervisor to support the aeroderivative power project, with preferred experience in power plant construction or large industrial projects. This role is primarily site-based and focused on providing consistent, hands?on safety leadership for employees and subcontractors. While the current assignment does not involve routine travel, successful candidates may be considered for future project opportunities across additional locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and jobsite evaluations on the aeroderivative project.
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project?specific training sessions.
  • Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company safety policies, and project safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate safety metrics, documentation, and reporting.
Experience & Education
  • 4+ years of safety experience in power plant construction, industrial projects, or similar environments.
  • OSHA 30 (or higher) required.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong communication, leadership, and coaching abilities.
  • Experience supporting or supervising union craft workforce.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and collaborate effectively with project teams.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $54,000- $154,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).
