Job summary

The State Group is seeking a Safety Supervisor for the TVA Allen Fossil Plant, north of Olive Branch, MS. You will champion safety on-site, conduct audits, lead investigations, and drive compliance while partnering with project teams and subcontractors.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in construction safety, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E knowledge, and BCSP/CSP preferred. This role emphasizes training, leadership, and proactive safety initiatives within a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of verifiable construction safety experience.
• A degree in Occupational Safety and Health is preferred.
• CSP or other BCSP certifications are preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Card required.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and other key safety protocols.
• Ability to train and communicate safety protocols.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Complete site safety plans and audits.
• Collaborate with operations to develop action plans addressing challenges and deficiencies.
• Help conduct accident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Identify safety trends and areas for improvement and communicate findings to management.
• Lead the safety team and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead urgent safety response to worker concerns.
• Participate in project planning with construction and subcontractor managers.
• Establish and maintain safety communication structures.
• Monitor safety documents and reports to keep them updated.
• Conduct site-specific safety orientations and training for new employees.

Safety Supervisor based at the TVA Allen Fossil Plant, about 20 minutes north of Olive Branch, MS, to champion a culture of safety project-wide and ensure the highest standards of compliance, training, and risk management. This role is ideal for a hands‑on safety professional who thrives in the field—partnering with project teams, customers, and contractors to identify hazards, deliver impactful training, and drive proactive safety initiatives. You'll play a critical role in conducting audits and inspections, leading incident investigations, supporting regulatory compliance, and helping teams maintain safe and productive job sites. Your leadership and expertise will directly contribute to protecting our people, strengthening our safety culture, and supporting successful project outcomes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Complete job site-specific safety plans and audits.
• Collaborate with operations to develop action plans that address challenges and deficiencies.
• Help conduct accident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Identify safety trends and areas for improvement, and communicate findings to management, field supervisors, customers, and employees.
• Actively contribute to the TSG/Beltline safety team, helping establish best practices and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead urgent response to workers’ safety concerns.
• Participate in project planning meetings, working closely with construction and subcontractor managers.
• Establish and maintain effective health and safety communication structures.
• Continuous monitoring of all safety-related documents, reports, and issues to keep them updated.
• Conduct site-specific safety orientations and training for new employees.

WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM

• 3-5 years of verifiable construction safety experience.
• A degree in Occupational Safety and Health is preferred.
• CSP or other BCSP certifications are preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Card required.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, confined space activities, hot work, excavations, and other key safety protocols.
• Must exemplify the organization's core values through professional conduct and leadership.
• Strong understanding of safety policies and regulations.
• Ability to effectively train and communicate safety protocols.
• Ability to professionally manage a fast‑paced, change‑oriented environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Experience in construction or union environments with fluctuating project volumes is preferred.
• Pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing.
