Job summary

RK Industries seeks a Safety Specialist-Manufacturing in Aurora, CO to lead safety compliance across a fast-paced facility. You will inspect for hazards, drive corrective actions, and develop shop-specific safety programs.

The role includes leading orientations, LOTO, and training, while investigating incidents and maintaining regulatory records. A college degree with 1–3 years’ experience and relevant safety designations are preferred.

• Understanding of workers' compensation and return-to-work processes.
• Desire to obtain additional safety certifications/designations.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety compliance across the manufacturing facility by ensuring teams follow applicable rules, procedures, and best practices.
• Inspect facility, identify hazards, analyze trends, and partner with shop leadership to implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain shop-specific safety programs, manuals, standards, procedures, and training matrices.
• Lead safety orientations and training, including new hire presentations, Lock Out Tag Out, industrial hygiene, and machine guarding.
• Investigate incidents, manage claims and clinic visits, maintain regulatory records, and support recovery plans.
• Support prevention and compliance through safe work practices, PPE, OSHA-aligned controls, contractor/vendor vetting, testing, and safety data analysis.

What You’ll Lead

What You’ll Bring

• College/University graduate with 1-3 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.
• Strong verbal presentation and facilitation skills.
• Understanding of Worker’s Compensation and Return to Work process.
• Currently hold or willingness to obtain additional education, safety certifications, and designations required. Designations include but not limited to:
• BCSP – ASP, OHST preferred
• NSC Advanced Safety Certificate
• OSHA 30 Hour
• Train the trainer designations related to Safety and Health
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other computer software.
