Job summary

RK Industries seeks an experienced Production Supervisor in Denver to oversee daily production, serving as the link between upper management and frontline crews. You will ensure safe, on-time, quality manufacturing while maximizing efficiency across a 10–25 person crew, with hands-on leadership on the shop floor and adherence to Lean principles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Familiar with shop production environment.
• Requires judgment or initiative in resolving issues and making recommendations.
• Ability to manage daily activities of 10-25 member crew.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize production to meet customer demands.
• Compile data on performance, output, and progress for senior management.
• Lead a team between 5 and 20 team members.
• Assign tasks to workers and monitor the production line to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Inspect work in process (WIP) to ensure it meets exact specifications and compliance standards.
• Onboard new hires and provide continuous coaching on equipment use and safety procedures.
• Participate in hiring, conduct performance reviews, and handle disciplinary actions or conflict resolution.
• Spend significant time on the production floor (Gemba) to observe processes firsthand, identify inefficiencies, and support frontline problem-solving.
• Actively monitor and eliminate the seven wastes of Lean.
• Maintain and utilize visual tools like Kanban boards to track task status and WIP limits to prevent bottlenecks.
• Ensure all team members follow established standardized work processes to maintain consistency and quality.
• Lead or participate in Kaizen events to implement incremental improvements based on employee feedback.
• Maintain and improve 5S in the workplace.
• Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
• Interpret job orders and drawings as needed for area of assignment.
• Review produced work for correctness and perform quality control inspections.
• Identify product defects and effectively communicate defects to shop leadership.
• Maintain accurate time records.
• Work with overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts.
• Plan and delegate prioritized work flow assignments as directed by shop superintendent.
• Monitor machinery health and arrange maintenance for necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

Position Summary:

• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols (e.g. OSHA regulations, proper PPE usage).
• Conduct regular audits of the work environment to ensure it remains clean and hazard-free.
• Inspect and document product compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Familiar with shop production environment.
• Requires judgment or initiative in resolving issues and making recommendations.
• Ability to manage daily activities of 10-25 member crew.

Accountability:

• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Prompt, punctual, and regular attendance during core business hours, in an office environment, currently located in the 80 E 62nd Ave area of Denver, including a reliable means of transport to and from work. Ability to occasionally travel between corporate offices and jobsites within the Denver Metro Area, during work hours.
• All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.

Physical Requirements:

• Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.
• Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
• Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
• Work in all types of weather.
• Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
