Job summary

Quikrete is seeking a Safety Specialist to serve as a field-based safety partner across locations. The role emphasizes hands-on safety coaching, risk reduction, and compliance support, with regular travel to sites to observe operations and implement practical safety solutions.

Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent safety/operational experience), possess strong knowledge of OSHA/MSHA requirements, and demonstrate the ability to coach leaders and front-line teams on safety

• Strong knowledge of safety principles and OSHA/MSHA requirements.
• Strong field presence to build relationships, influence leaders, and coach employees.
• Experience with safety auditing, incident investigations, hazard identification, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains safety programs, training, and processes per OSHA/MSHA and company standards.

• Supports incident reporting, investigations, and workers’ compensation activities.
• Analyzes safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Assists with regulatory inspections, documentation, and emergency plans.
• Travels regularly to assigned locations to provide hands-on safety support.

Job description

We are looking for a Safety Specialist to join our team. The HCM Safety Specialist serves as a field-based safety partner for operations, providing practical safety and health support across assigned locations. This role works closely with site leadership and frontline teams to identify and reduce risk, strengthen compliance, improve safety performance, and support the safe execution of day-to-day operations.

A significant portion of this role is spent visiting and supporting operating locations, building relationships with employees and leaders, observing work, coaching safe practices, and helping sites develop practical solutions to safety and operational challenges. Regular travel to assigned locations is required.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a safety advisor and coach to operational leaders, providing practical expertise and support while reinforcing that safety ownership resides with operations.
• Conducts regular site visits and field engagement to understand operations, identify risk, coach leaders and employees, and support effective hazard controls.
• Develops, implements, and maintains safety programs, standards, training, and processes in accordance with company requirements and applicable OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Conducts safety audits, inspections, and assessments; partners with site leadership to identify corrective actions and drive sustainable improvement.
• Supports incident and near-miss reporting, investigations, medical coordination, and workers’ compensation activities.
• Analyzes incidents, inspections, audits, and safety performance data to identify trends, systemic risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Supports regulatory inspections, required documentation, safety records, emergency response plans, and site-specific compliance programs.
• Coaches leaders on effective safety leadership, risk management, and the consistent application of company safety systems and expectations.
• Travels regularly to assigned locations to provide visible, hands-on support to operations and assist with higher-risk activities and business needs.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

About You

We Require:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant safety and operational experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Strong knowledge of safety principles and applicable OSHA/MSHA requirements; DOT, MSHA Part 46/48, and other relevant regulatory experience preferred.
• Strong field presence with the ability to build relationships, influence leaders, coach employees, and solve problems collaboratively.
• Experience with safety auditing, incident investigation, hazard identification, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly and work in active industrial and field environments.
• Must meet applicable pre-employment requirements
