Job summary

The Salvation Army's Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center in Chicago is seeking a Safety Associate to maintain a safe and secure environment for members, guests and staff. You will enforce center policies, respond to emergencies, and support the Facilities Service Manager.

Ideal candidates are detail oriented, physically fit, and able to work under pressure. Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent; basic understanding of safety and security and customer service.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Basic understanding of safety and security, customer service, familiarity with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all Salvation Army/Ray & Joan Kroc Center policies and procedures.
• Stay alert and vigilant.
• Follow safety guidelines to keep staff and guests safe.
• Interact professionally with staff, members, and guests.
• Greet all guests as they enter the building.
• Report safety concerns to the Facilities Service Manager.
• Monitor and control building ingress and egress.
• Perform safety checks and respond to emergencies.
• Operate wanding or metal detectors as needed.
