Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Safety Associate for the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Chicago. Under the Facilities Service Manager, you will help maintain a safe, secure environment for staff, members, and guests, and act as a first responder to emergencies.

Ideal candidates are detail oriented, physically fit, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting, independently or as part of a team. High school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of safety and security, customer service.
• Familiarity with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all Salvation Army/Ray & Joan Kroc Center policies and procedures.
• Always remain alert and vigilant.
• Follow safety guidelines to ensure all staff and guests are safe.
• Interact with staff, members and guests in a positive professional manner.
• Greet all guests and patrons as they enter the building.
• Report on any safety concerns that arise to the Facilities Service Manager.
• Monitors, secures, and restricts building ingress and egress as needed.
• Perform safety checks, participate in drills and respond to emergencies as they arise.
• Perform wanding or operate metal detectors as needed.
