Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 years industrial relief valve repair experience.
• Familiar with tools and machinery required to perform daily valve repair duties.
• Experience with repairing various valves and actuators, whether pneumatic, hydraulic or electric.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Inspections, testing, and refurbishment of safety-related and non-safety related relief valves from different manufacturers.
• Evaluate overall condition, internal parts condition, usability, and document findings.
• Test valves per site codes; remove and reinstall, including offsite refurbishment when needed.
• Refurbishment tasks: lapping of discs and nozzles, complete valve overhauls, machining of nozzles.
• Document all inspections and testing in site reports and procedures.
