Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. seeks a Project Specialist to develop and implement company-wide Safety programs and to provide expert counsel in safety areas.

The role demands strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to promote a culture of safe work across diverse sites. Responsibilities include staying current with regulatory changes, coordinating safety meetings, analyzing performance metrics, and leading investigations when incidents occur, including after-hours

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, OSH, industrial hygiene or similar with 5+ years of related experience.
• Master’s degree in engineering/science/OSH with 3 years of related experience.
• Experience in health and safety program development/management and operations leadership.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety procedures; ability to analyze data and incidents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence and drive change.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in Safety areas; provide day-to-day guidance on OSHA standards and safety issues.
• Review injury/illness reports, coordinate safety meetings, and share monthly safety performance data.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Interact with internal/external stakeholders to identify improvements and best practices.
• Prepare reports on regulatory updates, compliance, and incident analyses; monitor performance metrics.
• Participate in field safety observations across various sites and respond to incidents on a 24x7 basis.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science/OSH/Industrial Hygiene

Master's Degree in Engineering/Science/OSH/technical discipline

5+ years related work experience

3+ years with Master’s degree
