Shirley Parsons is seeking a Safety Professional for a permanent role in Reno, NV. You will oversee safety on a marquee project, operating as the technical safety expert and coordinating with site leadership.

The position is non-exempt, hourly, with overtime eligibility and relocation or sign-on support for local and non-local candidates. A strong safety background and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years proven experience managing safety on major construction projects.
• CHST or CSP certification required.
• Based near Reno, willing to travel daily.

Responsibilities

• Undertake job site inspections, accident investigations and audits; propose corrective actions.
• Highlight safety metrics/trends to senior leadership with the Safety Director.
• Conduct new hire orientation and OSHA-compliant training programs.
• Engage with operations leadership, GC and client on safety matters as technical expert.

Job description

This is a permanent (NOT A CONTRACT), non-exempt position paid on an hourly rate and eligible for overtime pay.

• CHST or CSP required!
• $60 per hour + OT + benefits.
• 50 - 60 hours per week expected.
• $10k will be provided as relocation assistance for non-local candidates OR as a sign-on bonus for local candidates.

An industry leading MEP contractor is looking to appoint a Safety Professional in Reno, NV. You will be responsible for overseeing safety performance on a marquee project in the Reno area. This represents a fantastic opportunity to join an industry leader, where you will be given the platform to succeed in the role.

The Role:

• Undertake job site inspections, accident investigations and audits as deemed necessary - putting forward corrective actions to continually develop the safety program and culture
• Work in partnership with the Safety Director in highlighting key safety metrics/trends on the jobsite, which will be reported back to senior leadership
• Conduct new hire-orientation and implement training programs in compliance with all OSHA requirements
• Engage with all operational leadership, job-site teams, GC and the client in regards to safety related matters - acting as the technical expert for any issues that may arise

The Candidate:

• A minimum of 5-7 years proven experience managing safety on major construction projects. Mechanical experience desired
• CHST or CSP certification (required)
• A strong communicator who can engage with both key internal and external stakeholders
• Based near Reno, and happy to travel to the project daily (Relo Assistance will be provided)
