Job summary

EPB Safety seeks a Safety Process Improvement Specialist to drive safety process development and continuous improvement across field, facility, and utility operations. This role partners with Safety Leadership and cross-functional teams to strengthen compliance, reduce risk, support audits, and promote a proactive safety culture.

The position emphasizes leading lean/six-sigma initiatives, conducting JHAs and risk assessments, delivering targeted training, analyzing safety data, and tracking

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Safety, Technology, or related field.
• 3-5 years in safety, EHS, or process safety in an industrial environment.
• Experience with safety coordination, continuous improvement and analytics.
• Hands-on process improvement experience with measuring results.
• Experience developing/auditing safety programs (LOTO, JHA, PPE, incidents).
• Experience collecting, analyzing safety data and driving CAPAs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety software (SiteDocs/Cority).
• Experience applying AI or digital tools to safety workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for safety processes across operations.
• Analyze safety procedures and JSAs to identify gaps and reduce risk.
• Develop, update, and standardize safety policies and programs.
• Facilitate process mapping and lean/six-sigma projects on high-risk tasks.
• Investigate incidents; perform root cause analysis and CAPA tracking.
• Maintain safety performance metrics and report to leadership/regulators.
• Conduct JHAs, risk assessments, and safety audits for field/facility work.
• Collaborate with engineering/operations to integrate safety into new processes.
• Evaluate equipment and technologies for safety implications and controls.
• Design and deliver safety training; assess training effectiveness.
• Coach on safety processes and human performance; lead committees.
