Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking a Safety Supervisor to lead and coach operating personnel on safety policies, programs, and commitments, safeguarding employees and property across both field and office environments.

The role focuses on driving top-decile safety performance, coordinating safety meetings, interpreting regulations, and implementing proactive safety initiatives with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Safety or related field; CSP preferred; 5+ years safety experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience or master's with 3+ years; CSP preferred.
• Advanced degree in Safety preferred; knowledge of regulatory standards.
• CSP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to improve safety performance and drive accountability.
• Plan, conduct, and evaluate safety meetings and support employee safety committees.
• Interpret federal and state safety regulations and advise on compliance methods.
• Conduct field safety observations and follow-up with workgroups.
• Provide positive safety coaching to all team members.
• Analyze incidents to prevent recurrences and develop improvement programs.
• Develop and analyze safety data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Support injury/illness prevention and hazard recognition programs.
• Lead safety projects and collaborate with other safety personnel.
