Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking a Safety Supervisor to lead and monitor safety policies, engage operating personnel, and safeguard employees and property. The role emphasizes coaching, data analysis, and regulatory compliance across field and office environments.

The Senior Safety Supervisor adds responsibility for advanced safety leadership, regulatory knowledge, and potentially overnight travel during outages or emergencies, with a focus on top decile safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Safety or a related field. CSP or other safety related certification preferred.
• Five or more years of safety related experience required.
• Sr. Safety Supervisor: five or more years of experience with five or more years in safety or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• CSP certification is preferred. Advanced degree in Safety is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership to improve safety performance and drive top decile performance levels.
• Assist operating groups in planning, conducting and evaluating safety meetings and support employee safety committees.
• Interpret federal and state safety regulations and advise on compliance methods.
• Conduct field safety observations and communicate findings to the operating workgroups.
• Provide safety coaching to all members of the business segment.
• Assist in analyzing safety incidents to prevent recurrences.
• Develop and analyze safety statistics to identify trends and improvements.
• Assist in injury and illness prevention programs and hazard recognition programs.
• Lead safety projects and collaborate with other Safety personnel.
