Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking a Safety Supervisor to lead safety performance across assigned areas, plan and evaluate safety meetings, and advise on compliance with federal and company requirements. The role includes coaching, incident support, and data-driven safety improvements.

Senior-level responsibilities add expert investigations, program development, regulatory interpretation, and cross-functional safety initiatives across multiple units. Occasional travel to field locations is required.

Qualifications

• The candidate holds a safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, engineering or related degree.
• Experience in safety, utility operations, industrial, construction, or related fields.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, PHMSA and related safety regulations.
• Certification such as CSP/ASP/CUSP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to improve safety across assigned areas.
• Plan, conduct, and evaluate safety meetings and committees.
• Interpret federal and company safety requirements and advise on compliance.
• Conduct field safety observations and give feedback to employees and leaders.
• Coach employees and leadership on safe work practices.
• Support incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Analyze injury data to identify trends and improvements.
• Develop and administer injury prevention and safety programs.
• Participate in safety projects and drive best practices.
