Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Safety Operations Manager to provide safety expertise, apply lean principles, and implement hierarchy of controls to protect team members. You will develop safe processes through engineering and ergonomic solutions in partnership with stakeholders and ensure safety is integrated into supply chain operations.

You will assess performance, escalate critical issues to the Director of Safety, drive continuous improvement, and train safety leaders to strengthen the safety

• Thorough working knowledge of Dollar General, Federal, and State OSHA regulations.
• Industry expertise and proven leadership skills.
• Proven problem solving, root-cause analysis, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent relationship building and collaboration.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Review metrics and incident details daily/weekly; train and verify root cause corrective actions.
• Ensure safety programs are implemented and compliant; assist with program development.
• Use continuous improvement tools to identify safety solutions for unique processes.
• Perform floor walks to interact with team and audit safety program execution.
• Solicit feedback and identify benchmarking opportunities within the industry.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State OSHA regulations.
• Support abatement plans for safety-related citations.
• Oversee sanitation policies, supervise sanitation workers, maintain records.
• Oversee pest control program with 3rd party service; inspect grounds.
• Collaborate with compliance partners to address health exposure issues.
