Job summary

Honda is seeking an Assistant Manager, Safety to lead a team of safety professionals, design and improve systems, and align safety with daily operations and new model launches.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering or ABET-certified safety program, 8+ years of safety experience, and certifications such as CSP or OSHA Safety Technician. Open office and manufacturing environments with overtime and some travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or ABET-certified safety program.
• 8+ years of safety experience or equivalent Honda manufacturing experience.
• Professional certifications such as ASCS, OSHA Safety Technician, CSP, or Safety Management Specialist.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Strong knowledge of major health and safety regulations and injury prevention.

Responsibilities

• Lead Plant Safety themes and complex improvement projects.
• Manage daily operations of a team of Safety Professionals and mentor direct reports.
• Foster technical expertise and professional skills of direct reports.
• Apply PDCA cycle to reduce injuries and hazards and improve safety characteristics.
• Perform complex safety activities including risk assessments and ergonomic studies.
