Job summary

Ultium Cells LLC in Spring Hill, Tennessee seeks an experienced Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance on production equipment, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the facility.

You will coach technicians, coordinate with cross‑functional teams, and manage preventive and corrective maintenance plans to support production goals and cost objectives.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Industrial Maintenance Journeyman’s certificate or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years or more industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of production and processing equipment.
  • Experience with CMMS systems preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate, lead, and mentor team members.
  • Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and collaborate with diverse teams and international partners.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support corrective and preventive maintenance activities on production equipment and associated controls to ensure reliable machine operation.
  • Communicate directly with Production to coordinate preventive maintenance activities and support troubleshooting efforts in production areas.
  • Prepare, manage, and maintain periodic preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Verify accuracy, completion, and documentation of all preventive maintenance and troubleshooting records.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for complex maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with established safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance-related documentation, including daily reports and inspection check sheets.
  • Provide floor-level leadership by coordinating technician activities, monitoring work progress, and ensuring effective use of time and resources.
  • Ensure work assignments are executed in alignment with established agreements, procedures, and role responsibilities.
  • Maintain consistent oversight of maintenance operations to support production goals while adhering to workplace rules and expectations.
  • Perform additional supervisory support tasks related to equipment maintenance as assigned.

Position Description:

Maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment by ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures. Provide floor-level leadership by coordinating maintenance activities, monitoring work progress, and ensuring effective use of time and resources to support production goals.

Train, coach, and develop team members to support company objectives and future growth opportunities. Foster a positive, high-performing work environment built on mutual respect, accountability, and shared commitment to operational excellence.

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and external partners to support maintenance operations and resolve complex issues. Provide ongoing feedback, clearly communicate expectations, and reinforce accountability through consistent coaching and performance management.

Collaborate with cross-functional support teams to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives. Ensure maintenance operations are executed in alignment with established agreements, procedures, and role responsibilities.

Own the performance of the maintenance area across safety, quality, equipment care, efficiency, innovation, capability, and productivity while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate team member development through performance feedback, coaching, and documentation.
  • Enforce safety standards and applicable rules and regulations; collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate operations across departments.
  • Document, implement, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain maintenance records, logs, and required documentation.
  • Ensure effective time utilization by team members.
  • Observe work progress and verify completion of assigned tasks and work orders.
  • Confer with management, peers, and others to resolve team member issues, complaints, or grievances.
  • Interpret and apply company policies and procedures, specifications, blueprints, and job instructions for team members.
  • Coordinate work orders with Production, Vendors, and Contractors.
  • Demonstrate general academic aptitude and the ability to understand moderately complex instructions, schedules, reports, and equipment documentation.
  • Lead and foster a culture that values innovation, accountability, and Ultium Cells core values through an outcome-based approach without compromising safety.
  • Demonstrate strong motivation and a sense of urgency in daily operations.
