Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, Inc. (BCCS) seeks a Part-Time Safety Officer for its Georgetown location to maintain a safe environment, assist with crises, and ensure orderly operations.

The role includes patrolling premises, directing traffic, and providing incident reports as part of daily duties. The successful candidate will stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and have a HS diploma or GED (or 5 years of verified work experience); preferred: experience in drug/alcohol field

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or 5 years of verified work experience is required.
• Preferred: 1 year experience in the Drug and Alcohol Field.
• Preferred: 1 year de-escalation experience.
• Ability to stand for the length of the shift and to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, address disruptive individuals.
• Provide Crisis intervention.
• Respond to emergency situations to stabilize clients and staff.
• Patrol building and parking lots to prevent loitering and unauthorized parking.
• Direct traffic in BCCS parking lots.
• Monitor grounds and buildings to ensure safety.
• Assist handicapped clients to enter clinic when necessary.
• Write incident reports.
• Assist with maintaining safe and clean grounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
• Maintain daily contact with clients to maintain a safe environment.

BCCS is seeking a Part-Time Safety Officer for our Georgetown location!

As a Safety Officer with BCCS, you will:

• Maintain safety, including techniques to address disruptive, uncooperative persons
• Follow policies and procedures established
• Follow policies and procedures established by BCCS; visible to staff, offering support and modeling service behaviors and concern resolution process.
• Provide Crisis intervention
• Respond to urgent or emergency situations in a way that minimizes trauma to the client and staff members and results in stabilization.
• Patrol building and parking lots to prevent loitering, unauthorized parking and smoking
• Direct traffic safely in BCCS parking lots
• Monitor parking lots, BCCS grounds, and buildings to ensure safety
• Assist handicapped clients to enter clinic when necessary.
• Keep order and maintains an orderly line in dispensing
• Assist nurses in the event of a client incident.
• Assist with maintaining safe and clean grounds
• Write incident reports
• Provide assistance to unruly, uncooperative and disruptive clients from premises.
• Assist with snow and ice removal when necessary to ensure business parameter is safe.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
• Client Contact and Responsibilities
• The Safety Officer maintains daily contact with clients in an effort to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Requirements

• HS diploma or GED OR 5 years of verified work experience is Required
• PREFERRED: 1 year experience in the Drug and Alcohol Field
• PREFERRED: 1 year de-escalation experience
• This position requires the ability to stand for the length of the shift and to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Schedule:

• Monday – Thursday from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
• Every other Saturday morning from 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

Salary

• Starting at $17/hr.
• Commensurate with experience
