Job summary

Apis Services, Inc. is seeking a Safety/Security Officer in Morgantown, PA to oversee daily activities and ensure safety for adolescent clients.

The role requires independent judgment in crisis situations and strong collaboration with staff to maintain a secure facility. The position includes managing front desk operations, conducting screenings, supervising access, and responding to emergencies with appropriate safety measures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manages the Front Desk / Control Room
• Interact with clients in a manner that ensures their safety and security
• Maintains regular communication with supervisors and co-workers
• Manages Security Screenings of All Staff, Clients, and Visitors entering the building
• Conducts contraband searches
• Manages video surveillance system and responds accordingly
• Provides effective facility security including headcounts, room checks and observing client movement
• Observes client behavior and intervenes appropriately
• Responds to emergencies including evacuation, CPR, or first aid
• Demonstrates Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will direct the daily activities of adolescent males in programming utilizing acceptable behavioral management principles. Must have the ability to exercise independent judgment in crisis situations.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Manages the Front Desk / Control Room
• Interact with clients in a manner that ensures their safety and security.
• Maintains regular communication with supervisors and co-workers.
• Manages Security Screenings of All Staff, Clients, and Visitors entering the building

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Other Qualifications

• At least twenty-one (21) years of age
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Physical exams that include TB and drug testing.
• Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
• Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
