Community First Medical Center seeks a Behavioral Health Safety/Security Officer for its New Behavioral Health Unit. The role ensures a safe, secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors while protecting hospital assets.

Shifts include Day, PM, and Night. Key duties are rounds, assisting security staff, documenting policy non-conformances, timely responses to nursing calls, patient transport, and handling valuables per policy. CPR and CPI are preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR and CPI certification preferred.
• Experience in healthcare behavioral health settings is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Makes rounds inside and outside assigned areas as scheduled.
• Provides assistance to security personnel, hospital staff, and escorts visitors.
• Observes and documents non-conformance of policies and procedures.
• Completes all required paperwork accurately.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
• Responds to calls from nursing and hospital departments promptly.
• Transports patients in wheelchairs or with assistive devices.
• Accepts and releases patient valuables and lost and found items as needed.
• Responds to requests for additional manpower to cover shift shortages.

Behavioral Health Safety/Security Officer

New Behavioral Health Unit

Shift Available:

Day: 7:00 AM - 3 PM

PM: 3:00 PM - 11 PM

Night: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

The Safety/Security Officer performs activities necessary to the provision of a safe and secure environment for employees, patients, and visitors of the Behavioral Health Unit and to protect the assets of Community First. At the discretion of the Director, an Officer may also be assigned to perform supervisory duties as the Officer In Charge (O.I.C.).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Makes rounds, inside and outside of assigned areas as scheduled.
• 2. Provides assistance to other security personnel, hospital employees, and escorts visitors.
• 3. Observes and documents the non-conformance of policies and procedures.
• 4. Accurately completes all paperwork as required
• 5. Demonstrates discretion in handling confidential information.
• 6. Responds to calls from nursing and other hospital departments in a timely manner.
• 7. Transports patients in wheelchairs or those using assistive devices.
• 8. Accepts and releases patient’s valuables and lost and found items (per policy) as needed.
• 9. Responds to requests for additional manpower to cover shift shortages.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

• Highly prefer experience in a healthcare and Behavioral Health
• High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited program required
