Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Safety Manager to lead all safety initiatives across Hawaii operations, focusing on repiping and mechanical infrastructure projects in Honolulu. The role ensures OSHA and Hawaii regulations compliance and develops state-specific safety programs.

You will develop training, perform site inspections, and manage safety data and reporting while collaborating with the corporate safety team. Travel across Oahu and a 45–50 hour work week are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience in Hawaii across multiple trades and sites.
• Experience developing, implementing, and managing construction safety programs and policies.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
• Experience delivering safety training for construction field personnel.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA and Hawaii OSHA (HIOSH) regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures across Hawaii operations.
• Develop and deliver construction safety training programs for field employees, supervisors, and managers.
• Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and risk assessments across multiple project sites.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries, prepare reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIOSH, and state/local construction safety regulations while maintaining documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, human resources, and support teams to achieve organizational objectives.
• Travel throughout Oahu using a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
• Support long-term planning and development of Hawaii safety operations.
