Job summary

Austin Commercial in North Texas seeks a Safety Manager to lead site safety programs and training. You will educate staff on federal, state, and local safety laws, ensuring compliance with our safety manual and expectations.

You will build relationships with project teams, create safety reports, conduct training, and coordinate with subcontractors while upholding our ESOP culture and safety standards.

Qualifications

• OSHA 510 certification active within five years
• Authorized OSHA 500 Trainer
• Five years of current General Contractor experience OR a relevant degree or BCSP certification with three years GC experience
• OSHA 500 certification preferred
• BCSP Certification preferred
• CPR and First Aid certifications current
• SWPP knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of construction processes and procedures
• Proficient in relevant software
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities; capable of crucial conversations
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Builds working relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety representatives
• Creates accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents
• Provides and participates in staff safety training and subcontractor development; presents effectively
• Represents company professionally with owners and subcontractors
• Creates and facilitates safety training aligned with project schedules
• Builds and maintains relationships with key vendors
• Participates in safety organizations outside the company within the region
• Ensures compliance with the current safety manual and policies

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health

OSHA 510 Certification

Manages the site safety program on assigned project. Educates and trains Austin Commercial project staff in federal, state, and local laws, ensuring compliance with the company’s current safety manual, policies and expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Builds working relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety representatives
• Creates accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents
• Provides and participates in staff safety training and subcontractor development; possesses strong presentation skills
• Represents company in a positive and professional manner with owner and subcontractors
• Creates and facilitates safety training on a variety of subjects that align with particular project schedules
• Builds and maintains relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, architects, etc.)
• Participates in safety organizations outside of the company and in assigned region
• Ensures compliance with the company’s current safety manual, policies and expectations.

Requirements:

• OSHA 510 less than five years old
• Authorized OSHA 500 Trainer
• Five years current General Contractor experience OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health OR
  • BCSP Certification (SMS, CHST, ASP, CSP) + three years of current General Contractor experience
• OSHA 500 preferred
• BSCP Certification preferred
• Current on CPR and First Aid certifications
• SWPP knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of construction processes and procedures
• Proficient in relevant software
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities; has the ability to have effective crucial conversations
